Hendrik’s entire
life revolves around cars – motorsport in particular. He
has competed in, written about and commentated on motoring
and motor racing events for the past twenty years, and is
regarded as one of the country’s leading authorities on
Formula 1 racing. He is a regular commentator for Topsport
at local racing events, and organizes tours to international
motor races.
He also writes regular columns for several newspapers and
magazines, and is editor of “Formula One Week”, a weekly
e-mail newsletter that goes out to an ever-growing list of
motor racing fans.
Hendrik is Chairman
of the SA Motorsport Club, founder member of the Formula One
Club of South Africa, and a member of SA Guild of Motoring
Journalists where he is a regular Jury member in the annual
Car of the Year competition.
He describes
his interests as “fast
cars, cricket, golf, music (especially 70’s rock),
wildlife, and a nice cold Windhoek or two”.
Hendrik’s
journalistic skills, in-depth knowledge of the motoring
world and totally relaxed presentation style, whether in
English or Afrikaans, makes him a valuable contributor to
Car Torque.
